Everybody has one…everybody needs one! Funny thing is, you probably never thought about it! If you haven’t sat down and created one, you probably suffer unnecessary confusion and stress in your life. So today’s mission is to THINK ABOUT, PRIORITIZE, CREATE and LIVE BY your very own *outlook*! One of my favorite quotes sparked today’s topic…
“Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.”
-Winston Churchill
Taking stock of our attitude towards life’s many “ifs” is a great start in determining what your personal outlook will be. Some people have a “take charge, positive” attitude while others may have an “it doesn’t matter, negative” attitude. Regardless of which one you fall into or whether you are in between, your attitude is what makes the difference in the type of life you lead.
Just to start you off, the definition of the word outlook is a “(2) mental attitude or view or (3) prospect of the future” according to www.dictionary.com. Your outlook needs to serve two very important purposes: (1) It should operate as your attitude towards everything that happened/happens—or is yet to happen—in your life and (2) it should promote all good things to manifest in the future. “I will make time for the things that help others, add exponential value to my life, or enhance my health, wealth and/or success.”
A few weeks ago, I carved out some free time for myself to think about what was important in my life. Lately I’ve been dedicating myself to living a “big-picture” life. Although every incident, choice and relationship will create small hurdles, I chose to dedicate my outlook towards the payoff at the end. I decided that I wouldn’t focus on the past because it is behind me! Instead of focusing on my relationship with others, I decided to place value on the outcome of my relationships and choices. Since I crafted this new and improved outlook, everything in life has new meaning. I approach anything I tackle or engage in with a purpose! Don’t you want that kind of life?
Every now and then, we should all reevaluate our positioning! Take a good glance at the people around you, a long look at what works and what doesn’t, a strong stare at where you came from and where you want to go. A great rule of thumb to follow in determining what should stay or go is “If you have to second guess it, there is no need to stress it!” Life should be free flowing despite the blocks that may arise. If the details of your life aren’t flowing the way you want, think about what your current outlook may be. Crazy thing about an outlook is you have one whether you created it or not! Great thing is you can change it to whatever you need it to be! Don’t let today pass without revisiting what is important to you! ”Live by the outlook, thrive by the outlook!”
Have a blessed and prosperous day my loves!
